I will be teaching English at a public high school this year, moving up from a feeder middle school after eight years. I enjoy technology but am wondering how to strike a philosophical balance between what is taught and the way it is learned. Content versus process. As the mother of two college students, I am familiar with the natural habitats of modern teenagers, and I think we have a lot to learn from them. This blog is my attempt to reconcile the tension between good foundational teaching and the relentless, extremely exciting, technology changes happening just outside — and hopefully, soon, inside — the classroom door.
