I teach sophomore English and journalism at a public high school in California. This is my 10th year in the teaching profession and I have learned more in the past 18 months and had more fun than ever before. I enjoy technology and am always wondering how to strike a philosophical balance between what is taught and the way it is learned. Content versus process. As the mother of two college students, I am familiar with the natural habitats of modern teenagers, and I think we have a lot to learn from them. This blog is my attempt to reconcile the tension between good foundational teaching and the relentless, exciting, technology changes happening just outside, and oftentimes inside, the classroom door. As I add Journalism 2.0 to the mix this year, my excitement only grows.
